when i need to sleep

which i always do

and never can

because he's not there

i call him up

and say

"can you come over?

i need to take a nap"

he does.

and he lays next to me

with his big arms around me,

wipes my hair away from my eyes,

and turns the tv on.

i ask how he thinks i'm

supposed to sleep like that.

he turns it off

and watches me.
