tired of wasting money

when you're a teen or in your early twenties, you go out with a big group of friends to a restaurant and everyone figures out what they owe and puts it in.

when you're in your mid or late twenties and everyone has real jobs, either one person is expected to pay for the whole dinner of 12 people or everyone "splits it" even though one person had a salad and someone else had filet mignon.

i'm tired of spending $40 to have a salad and a glass of water. i'm tired of people waiting for me to say "oh, i've got this one" because i have a great job. if i put all the money in a jar that i waste on dinners out (when i order hardly anything) i could seriously own a balenciaga bag already.

i'm also tired of feeling like because i have a great job that people expect expensive gifts from me. i'm tired of being presented with "just some birthday ideas" and wedding registries that range from $50-$400

i'm furious about this suddenly and didn't know where else to voice myself.
