this past weekend

i have the most brilliant assortment of friends. i have all these people in my life who are colorful and interesting. every time i'm with them i think "i am so lucky, these people are amazing". each one of us is very unique and interested in important things. we all know each other well but don't step on each other's toes or beg for play dates. months can go by without seeing each other and any event that brings us back together picks us up where we left off.

after steve's play this weekend we all went back to his apartment. through my sweaty dance moves i surveyed the crowd. there was shannon in her 80's wedding outfit smoking a cigarette, next to her was alyson drinking some wine and rejecting my ass smacking. over on the couch was bret with his magnetic laugh sitting with alex who was playing the part of a punk rocker that night. there was my brother in his new jeans arguing girl's hotness with my fiance and rich in his expensive blazer looking calm and sitting on his kness. the room was filled with happiness, stories, loud music and drinks. there were people there i knew and loved and ones i had only met that night, but the energy from each one was the same. they all screamed "peace and acceptance" to me. they were all people who never learned how to judge.
