i write all over my walls. i've done it now for about nine years. there are stupid drunken things written there from my years of coming home and thinking a pen could make sense of things. there are poems scattered around. there are phone numbers and insights and notes from my friends. i never think about how cool it is that my parents let me do this until someone new comes into my room and says "who is anne sexton?" and i get to read them "the black art" and make them a new person for hearing it.
